Have been waiting for such mod for a while Just wish to know to which extent you are going to expand the petroleum industry?

Nothing is concrete as of now, but there are a few general ideas I've been considering.

1) Oil reprocessing. A new multiblock, the Coker, thermally cracks heavy petroleum byproducts (bitumen) into lighter ones (diesel), while producing Petroleum Coke. Other steps may be added if there is interest/ideas.

2) Various types of reservoirs. Instead of just oil, players could find water aquifers, and modpack makers could introduce new deposits accessible by Pumpjack (i.e. Lava in the nether).

3) Lubricant. Another distillation tower product. Can be piped into Automatic Lubricators, blocks that connect to big IE machines at specified points in order to increase their speed. On the fence on this one.

4) Reworking the oil drilling system. Currently Pumpjacks are all that's needed to extract oil, but this is a bit simplistic. While the current system may match IE functionality well, I might introduce a separate multiblock to do drilling. The Oil Rig / Oil Derrick would drill to bedrock and then collect the oil that starts spewing from the reservoir. Once the reservoir drops to 30-50% capacity or something, it will stop pushing out oil and a Pumpjack will need to be built. Not sure how I feel about this change yet.

5) Adding naphtha and plastics. Not sure what the uses would be nor whether it would be theme appropriate.

Thank you for the reply! So the reservoir is some kind of semi-infinite fluid source, the mechanics looks promising.

Currently in 1.10 I think there isn't much mod related to chemistry, but still these added materials could find their use. For plastics, it could be used as a good gating material in modpacks, also probably synthetic rubber?

I've been working on a very complex petrochem processing chain involving a lot of mods recently (but in 1.7.10),I'll post a flowchart here later

I'd love to see the coker and the oil derrick in the 1.12 version, those sound really cool.
