Plastics? Plastics!

In #4, Flaxbeard says that plastics are possible addition to this modpack. I would like to start this issue as way to brainstorm ideas about creation and use of plastics in Immersive Petroleum.

First. I would argue that plastics are theme appropriate in this mod. As plastics are integral by-product of oil refining and they are extremely versitile. They could also add utility to this mod.

First ideas I have are about creation of plastic. First step would be to get some kind of "plastic precursor" pruduct from distillation tower. I'm not sure if it should be liquid or solid.

If it is liquid, it could be possible to produce different types of plastic in mixer while adding some additives. Then, Filling Station could be used to "fill" molds, that would then be extracted by simply crafting them.

If it was solid, it would be great if metal press was used, along with existing molds. Plate, rod and packaging molds would definitely be useful. As plate of plastic, plastic rod and plastic block could be useful as components.

As for use of plastics, I think of them mainly as more convenient and plentiful replacement of existing materials. As they are in real life. I would definitely like to see conveyor belts made with plastic instead of leather, as leather can be tedious to get in large enough quantites. And also replacement for wood or treated wood. Plastic rod could be used as handle for tools and weapons (both in vanila and in tool-replacing mods). Colored plastic blocks could be used for construction. Maybe there could be plastic-coated wires to lower losses or increase range. Plastic, colored, post to get your towns more modern feeling. Plastic-aluminum windmill for those who are environmentaly conscious.

I'm sure there will be lots of other uses for plastics.

Same here, was wondering if this could be added ever since the distillation tower was added.
