dsi error when trying to load games?

Trying to load a game in wiiflow causes it to crash. The moment I click on a game I get the below screenshot, and thrown back into the wii menu.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Launch wiiflow lite
2. Click on a wii game
3. It crashes

I'm on version 5.5.3 Running on an original Wii

I followed this the guide at https://wii.guide/ nearly exactly as instructed, except using d2x v12 cios instead of v11.

When I launch d2x installer it gives me the option to dowoad v12, so that's weird. I just tried v11, and I'm still having the same issue.
