Describe the bug I installed wiiflow lite on my vWii after following the wiiu hacks guide for vWii (https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/vwii-modding), i installed all cIOS but when i try to start wiiflow it gets stuck on the bootscreen and after a while it kicks me onto HBC, i tried using wiiflow configurator to launch it with a different cios but no success, also tried removing any usb. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Follow the guide
  2. Download wiiflow last version from here
  3. Boot it
  4. See error

Please edit sd:/apps/wiiflow/wiiflow_lite.ini and set sd_write_log to yes. Repeat your tests. Attach sd:/wiiflow.log here.

Ozuba commented 1 year ago

That file doesnt exist for me, however i created it with the line : sd_write_log = yes But no log is created, could you supply a default file?

gingerbeardman commented 1 year ago

The log is created by WFL as you do your test, then after your test is finished you paste the contents here and we can hopefully tell you what is wrong.

Yeah i know, but my wiiflow install doesnt feature that wiiflow_lite.ini on /apps/wiiflow, after manually creating it like i described and booting wiiflow, no log is created.

gingerbeardman commented 1 year ago

So, this means that WFL doesn't even get as far as starting to log. So there is an issue with your setup outside of WFL.

Just to check, you installed WFL OK, all files in the correct place? How are you launching WFL?

What is the "bootscreen" you refer to? And what is the "error"?

Maybe a SysCheck will shed some light? Feel free to paste in here.

My wiiflow install is a direct extract from the download to the root of sd with the wiiflow folder on root and wiiflow folder on apps, im launching it through the HBC, by bootscreen i refer to the one with the wiiflow logo on a black background

when i try to start wiiflow it gets stuck on the bootscreen

Would you like to describe that in a little more detail?

Launch the WFL channel from the vWii menu, from HBC or via forwarder from the WiiU system menu?

How do you enter vWii mode? Via direct selection in the Aroma boot menu?

Ozuba commented 1 year ago

I launch wiiflow from the HBC, i entered vWii through the main menu icon

i see you are on vwii and using v5.5.3. have you tried connecting only the wii usb hdd (no other usb device)? you should try the latest v5.5.4 beta but i don't have a download link available.

Ozuba commented 1 year ago

I tried swapping the v5.4.4 beta files with the ones i had, now it does the same but without the logo, blackscreen for 30s and back to HBC

Fledge68 commented 1 year ago

since your on wii u - do you have the Y cable for your usb hdd? they require them on wii u.

Ozuba commented 1 year ago

For the moment im just using an sd card with no usb plugged at the back, does this matter?
