The current functions for compiling suck, like pretty bad. They'll do okay kind of, but at the same time they don't. More functions are needed.

paste_content is an ugly function which seems overly simple. I mean, I know why it's there, I just don't like it. Why is it the final function? Let things happen after it by changing the compile order.
