- we need to link to this page from the main asset page (a button "Status") and from places where assets are linked, e.g. the account page ("status" link)
I think the status can also just be shown on the asset page instead of using a separate page. For the next step where the status page is on the "site asset" level the page should be separated, however I don't think separating the status page from the asset/<id>
page saves us any work in the future.
By adding it to the asset page there will not be a need to add buttons to each sensor (that can already be clicked to access the sensor page). Currently on the asset page the entity address is being shown, this could be removed in favor of the status traffic light.
The main focus of the asset page is usually data dashboarding.
Also, the status page is supposed to grow beyond the sensor status and include other things like scheduling errors, error reports from users and other ideas.

We have plans for a status page for assets*, available at
/assets/ASSET_ID/status
.The first step is data connectivity to show if the sensors received data in recently, using a traffic light system.
:green_circle: = sensor has complete data in the most recent interval of
sensor.event_resolution * 4
(the 4 should be a constant in the code):yellow_circle: = sensor has some data, but not complete
:red_circle: = no data found
we need to link to this page from the main asset page (a button "Status") and from places where assets are linked, e.g. the account page ("status" link)
we need to collect the relevant sensors (
asset.sensors
for now - later, this can include child assets and public assets mentioned in theflex-context
if stored on the asset, or even gotten from the most recent scheduling job)for each sensor, a query of the most recent beliefs must be run.
the page might for now only say "Data connectivity", then list sensor names and the traffic light (maybe with a tooltip saying how many data points were found)
* In time, we want a status page only for assets marked as sites, but we have some conceptual work to do there.
