Manually set local IP #22

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

For some reason remotecontrol-for-winamp displays two local IPs and both are
not even in the correct region.

one is 192.168.175.1 and one is 192.168.240.1

correct local ip would be 192.168.1.26

is there a way to manually set the local ip on the computer?

Looks like you've got multiple network adapters. The RemoteControl plugin only
shows the first two IPs but I will improve this in the next version.
However, you can use RemoteControl with a network adapter whose IP address is
not displayed in the plugin. Figure out the IP address you want to connect to
and configure the RemoteControl Android app.

For changing the IP address have a look at:

I have this same issue with VMWare Player installed because it installs a
couple of virtual adapters and these are the ones shown. From your comment here
Martin, you say that I can still connect to the real IP even though it is not
shown? Is this automatic or do I have to configure something to use an IP not
shown in the list? That is, is the plugin still listening on the real IP
address even if it isn't showing?

My computer has 2 NIC's and only the incorrect one is being detected. Even
disabling this network connection completely and restarting winamp, the SAME
IP/NIC is detected and offered as a choice for the server.
Surely there must be a way to force it to use an NIC/IP address of my choosing?
How is it remembering this setting? Is there a config file somewhere I can
manually edit?

there is a fix for you:
http://code.google.com/p/remotecontrol-for-winamp/downloads/detail?name=gen_Remo
teControl.dll&can=2&q=

i have not tested it completely because i'm working on a completely new version
without the net framework.
