I'm not sure. It really depends on demand and the popularity of Vim 8.
Vim 8 seems quite nice. I'd love to see floobits support in the most popular version of vim.
I'd be very interested to see support for Vim 8 -- has anyone had a chance to look at how the neovim plugin would fit with it? In terms of popularity, the existing mass of regular Vim users doing a simple upgrade to get Vim 8 seems to make it worthwhile over people who have made the explicit choice to switch to NeoVim.
Wondering if there has been any progress, or decisions, as to whether Vim 8 will be supported with a plug-in?
I like MacVim which is now running Vim 8 inside and currently all the NeoVim GUIs have shortcomings for me. So Floobits for Vim 8 would be preferable.
You mentioned that this plugin has been deprecated in favor of floobits-neovim because of Neovim's asynchronous plugin architecture. My question is, with the incoming release of Vim 8 - which supports async - will this plugin be "undeprecated", or have you abandoned vanilla Vim for good?
