5 years ago InaSafe produces natural hazard impact scenarios due to various hazards (Flood, Tsunami, Earthquake, Volcano, Cyclone, Dam Break) and is mainly aimed at emergency management.
FloodRisk2 is a plug-in specializing in Flood and Dam Break hazards, and is aimed at supporting better decision-making in selecting alternative risk mitigation options. For the Flood and Dam Break hazards, FloodRisk2 has additional functions compared to Inasafe such as:
- special functions called depth-damage curves to calculate economic direct damages
- functions for the Fatality rate evaluation in case of Dam Break with which to estimate loss of life
- functions to carry out cost/benefits assessments in economic terms of alternative interventions
How different is this plugin from InaSAFE? I know they might have existed together in QGIS 2 but we always try to reduce duplication of functionality between plugins
