Ah.. I think that specific display works with MST (multi stream transport) and only SST (Single Stream Transport) is supported by the hardware.. sometimes you can switch it in the display OSD look for either those terms before or DP1.1 DP1.2 (you need DP1.1 setting iirc) hope it helps you :) (also this is an assumption based on a quick glance. It’s a recurring problem with DELL displays, I can be wrong.. but have no time to investigate)
@muunmonkey I have the same setup Mbpr mid 2012 and an AOC u2790B 4K Monitor, and couldn't make it work either, do you find a solution?
Dear @Floris497, great job with the patch! it worked great in other MBP but in my current one I don't seem to get it to right.
We've purchased a DELL U2718Q (4K display) but cannot get it to work @ 60Hz with a decent resolution (+2560 x 1440).
I've installed both the CoreDisplay Patcher & Nvidia Patcher. I've also tried with SwitchResX but there is no HiDPI option with 60Hz. I'm not sure if by installing SwitchResX I messed it up...
It's a MID 2012 Macbook Pro with Mini DisplayPort and the monitor is ready and capable ;-)
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks again! Best regards!
