Other data - oceanographic layers #3

Hi Max,

Thanks for the clear tutorial. I was just wondering, for studies which use habitat modelling and extract values at animal locations for a large number of oceanographic variables - do we need to include every variable considered (which may be fairly time consuming), and if so, do we consider each entry to be the variable or the data source (for example, EKE & SLA, and wind speed and direction, respectively, generally come from the same source)?

Thanks,

Tommy

We've decided to split the rubric into broad and fine-scale passes, doing the broad pass for all papers in our query and limiting the fine-scale pass to a representative sample. This question of multiple environmental variables will be addressed in the fine-scale pass, so we can ignore it for now. We're working on writing the fine-scale rubric now. More details to come at Friday's meeting.

That makes sense - thanks for clarifying.
