The underwater fog effect causes the bat to appear underwater because there is no texture on the underside of the water plane. This makes it appear as if the fog extends beyond the top of the water. This could be fixed by placing an upside-down transparent texture slightly below the water plane to simulate looking up from inside a pool of water...maybe
