optic lobe intrinsic neurons missing subclass relationship to lobula intrinsic neurons #1626

Open dosumis opened 1 year ago

dosumis commented 1 year ago

lobula plate intrinsic neuron LPi [FBbt_00003910] and its descendants are not optic lobe intrinsic neuron [FBbt_00007577] which would be more useful than unilateral intrinsic neuron [FBbt_00003988] as currently. Can we change this?

Others missing: ‘lobula intrinsic neuron ChaLinew1’ ‘lobula intrinsic neuron Li1’ ‘lobula intrinsic neuron Li2’ ‘lobula plate intrinsic neuron ChaLPinew1’

My preference would be to make general classes for intrinsic neurons of each of the neuropils of the optic lobe with these being subclasses of optic lobe intrinsic neuron. We can potentially formalise/automate (but shouldn’t let that slow down a fix).

We can potentially formalise/automate

to properly do this for intrinsic neurons, I think we would need a new relationship - something like synaptic_terminals_restricted_to_region, but for now these missing SC axioms should probably just be asserted

I am reclassifying lobula plate intrinsic neuron LPi as optic lobe intrinsic neuron in #1631.

This indirectly makes lobula plate intrinsic neuron ChaLPinew1 a subclass of optic lobe intrinsic neuron as well.

As for lobula intrinsic neuron ChaLinew1, lobula intrinsic neuron Li1, and lobula intrinsic neuron Li2, they are already classified as optic lobe intrinsic neuron through their superclasses lobula intrinsic neuron and optic lobe intrinsic columnar neuron.

Leaving this ticket open to remind us to create the general classes for intrinsic neurons of each optic lobe neuropil (manually or not).
