[Concept] Windows Hyper-V as default Windows for Winapps #171

By default, Winapps uses Windows, which everyone should upload individually to their computer. However, Microsoft gives away different versions of Windows for free (often for 90 or 180 days). Windows Hyper-V is a variation of Windows Server that is free completely. However, it has quite a few limitations and you need to check if Windows Hyper-V can be the default Windows instance for Winapps.

Disadvantages:

Pros:

So far I was able to check and Windows Hyper-V 2019 (based on Windows 10 core) has RDP support. So there is hope. I'll keep testing things and maybe we can determine if it's suitable for this purpose.

I was able to run using winapps in Windows mode, but other modes (such as running a specific application) do not work. It's possible that this is some sort of Windows Hyper-V limit, but I'll keep you posted.

Too big limitations of Windows Hyper-V for do that (no RemoteApps support). Maybe with trial version of Windows Server 2019 will be better (but you need to refresh license every 180 days)

https://github.com/stascorp/rdpwrap this can solve, I have not tested.

@gabrielvinicius

Thanks for link, but sadly no. RDPWrap don't have RemoteApp support (sadly). I think the best option is to use Windows Server 2019 Evaluation Trial and create script to refresh license if time to end is less than 14 days.
