Wasn't aware of this. Here's the [link](April NCAR/NEON/University workshop on ecological forecasting) for reference. It's the same week as IALE (my invited presentation in Ft. Collins), but depending on when my talk is, I might be able to attend most of the days anyway. Let's discuss.

- Generally, not my most productive week 😞

- Spent most of my time on outline. Includes brain dump of introduction, and notes on ED modules.
- A few hours reading and thinking about further parallelizing ED runs. Some related PEcAn development.
- Hector -- Didn't work on
Goals for this week
- FoRTE
- Look at ED ensemble output (even not all ensembles done). Chances are, there's something wrong with the output, so figure out what and how to fix it.
- Some simple benchmarks for running ED -- are ED runs really that slow, or was there something wrong with my setup? Consider whether I need to invest time in speeding things up.
- Paper -- Refine introduction, start creating a proper methods section
- (Time-permitting) Try short runs of various ED sub-models to see which ones can run without crashing (and what parameters they need, etc.)
- Hector
- More detailed outline of next steps
- Figures and notes (some version of outline above) for Corinne's EPA meeting next week
- Background reading, with a focus on how I might build a simple permafrost model
