Project priorities and deadlines

I'd like to discuss these, and then I'll plan my week based on what we decide. Specifically, looking for (1) What is the order of priorities? And (2) What are some hard- or soft-deadlines?

  • ED radiative transfer modeling (analysis is incomplete, text needs major revisions -- ~10-15 days). Could be more FoRTE-relevant

Meeting notes

TES project -- not just preregistration, but also build the analysis script before seeing any data. How to do real-time QA/QC while also keeping it "honest"? Alexey suggested using Git commit hash (and tag, and release?). Alexey may also do the runs instead to make it truly blind.

PhD work

• Shoot for trait and spectra papers to be submitted in 2019
• ED chapter can be a reach goal -- depends on how FoRTE work goes.

FoRTE

• fortedata
  • Shoot for exploration and tier 1 data to be done by around end of March. Should only take a few hours.
  • Plan on using a custom (more flexible) data import mechanism than R's data function.
• Paper 1 -- Highest priority. Goal is to have this submitted by September.
• Paper 2 -- Ship has sailed on using model to inform the treatment, and disturbance response will be slow enough that this can wait until winter 2019-2020.
• FoRTE data/project introduction paper -- Discuss on next group call. This data may end up in several papers (including my paper 1).

Hector

• Timeline above seems reasonable
• Lower priority than FoRTE paper 1, but should be lots of opportunities to work on this while, e.g., ED is running
