Learning about Docker, and getting the hang of setting up PEcAn Docker containers. Makes it easy to set up multiple instances of PEcAn based on different code versions (e.g. releases, specific branches/pull requests).
Tested Robert's Rcpp branch, and added installation instructions to documentation
Went through a generic GNU autotools tutorial. The general idea makes sense, but not sure about addin to Hector. Current approach of just setting environment variables may be conceptually simpler (though will probably preclude uploading to CRAN).
More pattern scaling readings. Really liked approach in Robert's 2018 paper.
FoRTE
Started working through reading list of ecological studies at UMBS.
Obtained some UMBS data from Chris.
Other
TRY multivariate analysis paper out to co-authors for review.
Frontiers paper on remote sensing accepted with minor technical revisions.
Plan for this week:
Frontiers paper revisions (~10%)
PEcAn (~40%)
Finish documentation pull request
Solidify and document Docker workflow for PEcAn developers
Do some test model runs at UMBS and SERC (including adding those as sites to PEcAn database)
FoRTE (~30%)
Background reading – ecology at UMBS
Organize and share paper ideas
Hector (~20%)
Background reading – ESM predictions of vegetation; opportunities for pattern scaling?
Play around with running different scenarios and tweaking parameters
Additional meeting notes:
Ben and Alexey will have a longer meeting next Tuesday (10/2) to do a Docker/PEcAn tutorial
Alexey should chat with Abigail Snyder about her pattern scaling project
For AGU registration, look for an email from Paulette.
