conflict with editarea and doctest #182

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. select a doctest
2. toggle the editor
3. load in a file
4. try to execute it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A file should be run; nothing happens.  Check to see that the path (in a
span) added may be causing problems.  Perhaps try to remove it and catch
silently the resulting javascript error.
