Unicode (non-ascii) not working at Jython prompt. #223

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start crunchy with Jython (2.5.0)
2.select an interpreter
3.Try any combination of 'andré' or u'andré', etc.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see some encoded string, or the original back. Instead a
traceback occurs. This is not the case with Python 2.x or 3.1, only with
Jython.
