Windows: Problem on 32-bit connecting to Linux client on 64-bit #530

Trac Data
Ticket 530
Reported by @Ivoshiee
Status accepted
Component FAHViewer
Priority 5
Version 7.1

I somewhat see my local clients with the FAHViewer, but when to select any remote ones, it will fail to view it. Both ends running 7.1.15 (FAHViewer under Windows XP Pro 32-bit and remote FAHClient under Fedora 14 64-bit).

Comment by @Ivoshiee Maybe it is Linux vs Windows, because I tested both ends on Windows as well and that combination does pull data to FAHViewer.

Comment by @sandstar This is what works for me:

Linux x86-64 -> local = working Linux x86-64 -> remote windows x86 = working

Comment by @jcoffland These interfaces have changed substantially since this bug was reported. Is it still a problem with v7.1.18?

Comment by @mephistopheles I have similar (?) problems with the 7.1.24 FAHViewer for Ubuntu64 -> Ubuntu64 and Ubuntu64 <-> OS X (both directions)

The viewer shows neither WU info (project, core, progress...) nor donor info for remote clients. (This works for the local client.) I get a visualization for both local and remote, but the protein is named "demo" in both cases. Am I seeing a visualization of the protein being folded, or just a canned demo?
