The following information needs to be communicated in the datasource dialog somehow (Perhaps in a separate information page in the wiki?):
If a user just enters an IP like 172.16.16.64, http:// gets tacked onto the beginning.
A user is able to specify an https connection: https://172.16.16.64/ or select an alternate port: http://172.16.16.64:8080
A user is also able to optionally specify a root path. This will be use full if a proxy is placed in front of the datasource. For example a follett hosted datasource might be located at: https://follettsoftware.com/perfmon4j/datasources
