On January 8th the RPF released a new kernel package, which is based on the 5.10.5 kernel. I've found two issues so far:
The phy drivers have mostly moved to mdio, so build.sh needs a small tweak.
Once the installer boots, it properly formats the new filesystem for /boot on /dev/mmcblk0p1, but is unable to mount it. The vfat filesystem driver should still be included in the kernel, but I haven't been able to confirm that one way or the other yet.
For now, the installer may have to 'pin' the raspberrypi-kernel package to an older release to avoid these problems.
