When I follow the procedure to install the plugin and verify it is properly working opening http://localhost:8765 in my browser, I get this error

SyntaxError: Unexpected token A in JSON at position 0
AnkiConnect v.6

I am running Anki Version ⁨2.1.53 with macOS Monterey

You are probably not requesting any actions, in such case a version string is returned. Please try requesting one.
