Mineral nutrients in FoodOn #200

Open LilyAndres opened 2 years ago

Hello, I was wondering if the following terms from FOODON, should actually be in CHEBI:

"calcium tartrate" [FOODON:03413055] "sodium polyphosphate" [FOODON:03413268]

At the moment, I'm working in adding new mineral nutrient terms into CHEBI and I found that these terms are already in FOODON, what's the best approach? Should I import these two terms from FOODON instead?

Any chemicals that are in FoodOn are a legacy of LanguaL import. We aim to replace them completely by Chebi terms, and the only reason they might not be is if we lacked the expertise to know what a correct match was. If you know the appropriate Chebi terms for these and other cases, let us know and we will finish deprecating our FoodOn versions.

Thanks!

Thanks @ddooley, I have added "calcium citrate" [CHEBI:190512] in CHEBI, but for "sodium polyphosphate" I will need a bit more help from a chemist, I will let you know when this gets incorporated into FoodOn.

Ok, I've added calcium tartrate via CHEBI to foodon but it won't show until Ontobee/Ontofox has this term in their version of CHEBI. I'll finish the job when sodium polyphosphate is mapped to CHEBI.

Great, thanks @ddooley. I'll try to integrate 'sodium polyphosphate' into CHEBI, I will let you know when this is finished.
