If anyone wants to take development of this feature, just assign yourself here.

Nothing much to say, as it's clear from the title. Maybe a checkbox in their accounts where they could unsubscribe from this kind of notifications.

Discord would also allow for easy correspondence between approver and requester for specific science projects, , (assuming CS here applied for CS and CS related works in other scientific settings)

Main problem would be that the website isn't up anymore. It didn't gain any traction while it was up.
