Ball service position and button to start serve #268

Copied from discord:

So, serious suggestion that could throw a big spanner in the works. I just tested with a really different ball position on non-bat hand. Right near the middle of my palm. Where the ball would be IRL. Felt WAY better, way more natural, way more controlled (because it's more or less my IRL motion). But doing the ball toss with index finger wasn't great, would be better with grip finger.

I'm convinced this is not only the way to go for me, but also probably for all IRL players and possibly for all players as the default. Try it, and maybe you'll agree, maybe you hate it, I dunno.

Few issues with it though:

  1. As mentioned, would work way better using the grip button rather than trigger
  2. Ball is basically inside the controller. Controlled should disappear during ball toss.
  3. @☠ doubtful ☠ said it probably wouldn't work well for Index controllers, which makes sense.
  4. Even if everyone who tried it loved it, obviously, I wouldn't want to impose a change on people without some warning, especially in the button used to generate ball toss.

Soooo... food for thought at the moment. Will add to github anyway.

I would add that, the moment you hold the grip finger, the ball becomes free, balancing on your virtual palm. The mere upward motion of your palm should be sufficient to launch the ball in the air, without letting go of the grip finger. You can imagine how it would work right now, by balancing the ball on the bat and throwing it upwards in the air. I realise this method could be too 'hardcore' and fiddly, but I think it would feel even more realistic.
