Ideas for Game Modes :
- MAJORITY RULES - Whoever scores gets the option to handicap the other player with a debuff (i.e. opponent can not return ball with the back/front of the paddle, the opponent has to keep a certain distance from the edge of the table, invisible paddle, ball is only visible on your side of the table, bigger/smaller paddle, etc.)
- SLAPPERS ONLY - points can only be scored from an Ace
- NOTHING BUT NET - Invisible Table. Only the net remains.
- NEAR-SIGHTED - Players can not see the ball after they strike it. Only when after the opponent returns it.
- FAR-SIGHTED - Ball vanishes and reappears as it crosses the net.
- TWIN-FIST - Players play with a paddle in each hand.
- DOMAIN - Players can only score by returning the ball to a certain half of the table.
- YING-YANG - Players must alternate between striking the ball with the front and backs of the paddle.

Urgh, I hate all of those ideas.
@FriendCalledFive any counter ideas?
Ideas that I had in the past
Exactly what you said Roman. It almost turns into Air Hockey, but... Table Tennis. :) And well, ideas are ideas! haha

So it's pretty much the serve goes back and forth and if the opponent can deflect the shot from the opponent they get to serve. There are no rallies.

I was also brainstorming with a friend an idea for BLACK-OUT (your vision shrinks the more points you score like a vignette tunnel vision)
I would very much like to see a ball machine based mini game in which one would be able to see the ball for only the first few milliseconds after it has been launched by the ball machine (just enough time to get a fair idea of the trajectory of the ball). The ball should then disappear and appear again a few seconds after one has managed to hit it (if one fails to hit it, then some suitable sound can be played indicating the miss). (in fact, might be worth making this limited ball visibility mode available in all the applicable mini-games as well as games with ai/others (players can be allowed to specify the duration for which the ball should be visible after launch))

Ideas that I had in the past
- as you win points, your paddle shrinks so it's harder to win more points
I came here to make a suggest, but it is already there ! I thought about a game mode in which the paddle size is inversely proportional to the Elo Score.
