Backspace stops IE 9 working #219

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open SIAB in IE9.
2. Press the backspace key.
3. You can no longer type.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To erase the previous character and continue typing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.14 on Linux (Client IE9 on Win Server 8)
