[Request] Code to generate patterns #588

I'd like to write a simple tool to generate instructions to build an image from the stained glass or wooden tiles from extra trees. I found the pattern used in the jar. Could someone point me to the code used to generate the textures from the pattern and the chosen blocks? I couldn't find it.
