@smlambert see the Ag Canada link. Might work for the FCF/ Birch Path shared position
yes, that was the one that was referred to me by fellow JF farmer folks. Am meeting with a fellow at Algonquin college on Friday to try and connect with potential candidates.
Part of what I sent in prep for that conversation,
I have attached 2 documents ("Fôret Capitale Forest Master Plan" and "Towards reconciliation: 10 Calls to Action to natural scientists working in Canada" which will help to inform part of what we hope to offer through a summer internship. We care for several afforested sites in the Ottawa area, including 9 acres which we steward located at the Just Food Community Farm near the Birch Path Healing Forest. We have begun a multi-year Soil and Biodiversity study with the University of Guelph. An aspect of the role would be to collaborate with the remote graduate student (based in Guelph) to take regular samples. To offer a rounded and enriching experience, we would also like the intern to assist with planning, communications, tree planting and care, as well as periodically assisting with on-site tasks at the Birch Path Healing Forest.

for the Ag position, I think we are a fit, as the eligibility criteria also mentions
Assist in carrying out the soil and biodiversity study is being conducted on Tiny Forest demonstration plots that were designed to be food-bearing focused (taking samples, collaboration with U of Guelph)
help develop and gather a few other metrics of interest for such systems like edible tiny forests and community food forests (some ideas: approximations on amount of food harvested, time it takes to harvest, quality of food harvested in this system / brix, etc).
assist with propagation of more food-bearing shrubs/trees
help create a demonstration agriforestry alley in the far field (we could have Aviva and/or tour groups participate also)
gather information on indigenous examples of food forest systems (like the one mentioned in https://ottawafoodforests.com/2021/05/27/inspirational-indigenous-forest-gardens/)
periodic site visits to the Red Barn food forest and Birch Path Healing Forest to assist with seasonal tasks
Presume we can mark this as closed.
