90\10% conversion rate is an average for all animal products. but meat is much more inefficient. beef is one of the most inefficient (according to ourworldindata.org) with a 98% - 2% conversion rate - meaning the cow takes 98% to produce 2% in terms of calories.

I am not advocating shifting to full vegan diet, but an increase in the percentage of our diet based on vegetables, fruits, nuts, mushrooms and a reduction in animal consumption is more restorative to the planet.

Land use for nuts is 'funny' because you can grow pulses and grains and vegetables right up to the trunk of trees, so food forests / tree guilds optimize land use and maximize what can be grown in certain surface area.
