BACKGROUND
There is a high demand for conferences and business events to include programming that has a positive impact or that leaves a legacy on the local community. Ottawa Tourism is looking to help event planners facilitate this by offering a set list of program options that planners can choose from. By developing these programs, Ottawa Tourism can ensure that they meet the needs of the community group with whom they are partnering, that there is efficiency in the logistical execution, and that there is a mechanism to measure the outcomes and impacts of these initiatives. Connect Seven Group (contact: Pascale Daigneault) is identifying opportunities to build the programs. They are looking to have tiered programs under three pillars: Environmental, Accessibility and Indigenous/Cultural; for FCF, we're looking at programs that touch on the environmental pillar - a few programs that are tiered based on their cost and ease of coordination for conference planners.
