[Request] Pre/Post image capture hook script support #593

Open mneumark opened 4 years ago

If this is a feature request describe it here

I wanted to do a timelapse while printing glow in the dark PLA. Only issue is that the glow only lasts for a while after the light turns off. I have a smart light over the enclosure so I want to keep the enclosure light on while printing, but before the shot is taken (say X amount of seconds before/after the shot is taken) I want to turn the light off, and then after the shot is taken, turn the light back on.

If I could trigger a shell script or at least call a REST API, I could do what I needed to.

Please consider becoming a patron

If you like this project, please support my work by becoming a patron, and consider adding a 'star' to the repository. It takes a lot of time and effort to maintain the project and respond to issues. The cost of test prints, software, cameras, printer parts, etc. can quickly add up, so every bit helps.

Wow, I totally remember responding to this issue, but apparently I either did not, or my mobile app failed. SO SORRY!

There IS pre/post snapshot scripting. See the camera profile:

Hopefully this works for you. Click on the blue question mark for more info about the settings. Turning on/off lighting is specifically mentioned in the help, though I have no example scripts for this. I've heard other people using these scripts to turn on/off lighting, so it should be possible (that's why I added them in fact).

Let me know if that helps, and I must again apologize for not responding (or rather not double checking).
