Icon request: icon-database #139

I'd like to suggest the following icons:

1 - Database icon - to represent DBs (example: http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/40094/128/database_storage_icon) 2 - Document icon - to represent generic documents (example: http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/12613/48/document_file_form_list_paper_icon) 3 - Support icon - to represent a support/helpdesk (example: http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/22096/32/handshake_icon)

kremalicious commented 12 years ago

Document is basically icon-file. Honestly, never saw a handshake being used as metaphor for support, icon-question-sign would be more suitable for that

De-linking icon-support out into #853.

I would also like to have an icon for database, although I want the icon to represent a storage volume.

The nice one I've found is this: http://www.iconarchive.com/show/icons8-metro-style-icons-by-visualpharm/Data-Database-icon.html

Thank you

Is there some way I can produce a vector file to help out? I'd love to see this and I'm happy to assist.

+1 for support, help icon https://www.iconfinder.com/icons/111047/safety_support_icon#size=128

mightybyte commented 10 years ago

+1 for the database icon. I'm not sure I like the ones in the link with three separate layers. I think a single cylinder has become a pretty canonical image representing data/database/disk/storage.

+1, however you can alternatively use fa-hdd-o, fa-archive or fa-cloud-download.

charleskline commented 10 years ago

True but in my case I'm already using two of those. I thought about cloud-down but that's a stretch. I ended up using, in this case, fa-bars which I feel works when also showing a text label of database.
