Couldn't you just ask them for a monochrome version of the logo?
I gave it a shot in InkScape, but it turned out to be pretty impossible to make it pixel perfect (contours are basically all 1.5 pixels).
I made my own version in Photoshop, attached here, which isn't perfect, but hopefully no one will look too closely since it's a pretty small button. Coding is not my strong suit, so I'm making my site in Muse, and I just need to figure out how to make this logo behave like a Font Awesome icon (i.e. change colors when rollover)
Here is an SVG version I created in InkScape: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39101475/creative-district.svg
Here's an inverted version (with border): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39101475/creative-district-invert.svg
Note that both aren't meant to be displayed in small font sizes (not pixel-perfect, unlike Font Awesome icons).
As a filmmaker using FontAwesome icons to link to assorted creative social networking profiles, I'd love an icon for Creative District, Technicolor's relatively new networking site whose grant program is gaining some traction with indie filmmakers - http://creativedistrict.com/
