Icon request: Threema #7057

An icon for the messaging service Threema would be great. Here's the (self-made) SVG:

This would be nice, especially since shariff uses font-awesome for social share icons. See https://18.re-publica.com/de/news/kommt-zur-prepublica-am-1-mai for example, where currently a padlock is used for sharing with Threema.

Hi,

is there a chance for getting a THREEMA icon? You do support lots of brands and THREEMA is very common in Europe, I believe it is WhatsApp strongest competitor there....

Any new information on this? Threema is becoming more and more popular yet still it hasn't been implemented into Font Awesome. Giving the fact this issue is more than 5! years old it would be great to know why it's basically ignored

@tagliala seriously? You found the time to drop an answer, pointing to FAQ. But nobody seems to be willing (for years now!) to give an answer to the question about whats missing or why adding this icon is still pending?

thx for answering. I don't wanna get in big discussion or reply battle on this. The point is, there are two answers (for now) pointing to the FAQ. But still no Answer, whats wrong with this messenger icon.

According to the FAQ: you can help with that by getting more reactions and ! So what shall be done to gain more attention on this? This discussion (even after five years) already illustrates persistent interest on this particular icon.

That would definitely help, and it is valid for all requests.

Asking a community of developers interested in having Threema in the core of Font Awesome to upvote this request will help. At the moment this request is not even in the TOP 50

By the way, our Pro Kits allow to upload customized icons without efforts, and there is a Wiki page with instructions to customize Font Awesome: https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/wiki/Customize-Font-Awesome

another thing: Since this request is five years old, it's a bit outdated; Threema tweaked their logo a bit in the meantime, see https://threema.ch/press-files/5_graphics/logo.zip.

OK all, let me be clear first. The age of the GitHub issue has little to do with whether we add it. If we went by age then we'd have to really consider adding the Myspace icon...

We add icons based on a few factors. For brand icons popularity is a large consideration. As @tagliala mentioned this request is not in the top 50 on our requests leaderboard. So honestly, we haven't deemed that it's worth adding yet.

Get the icon on the leaderboard. We measure based on reactions to this GitHub issue. This is laid out in the FAQ but if we are not specific enough with that or something is confusing please let us know.

One approach that has worked well for other communities is to get a Twitter campaign going. If it gets on the leaderboard that's the first step. If you get it into the #1 spot that's very convincing for us.

Alright, stepping in as well. Threema is of quite some interest in Europe and due to the new usage regulation of whatsapp, threema app downloads have increased incredebly just recently. Sorry, I don't get, what I would need to do in the FAQ to push the chances for a Threema icon.

Go to the first post in this issue thread. Then give it a 👍🏻 reaction. This will push the request up in the rankings.

SURVEY: Honestly, how many people that use Threema are on Twitter/X? Talking people using Threema, not Threema Work? If you would be on Mastodon, the upvote would be completed within a week max.

Seriously??? Nothing happened since 2015. Why is it still called awsome font? No fediverse service other than Mastodon, no large European messenger, but commercial services like Threads (ready) and Bluesky (building). Time for looking for alternatives.
