Icon Request: fa-circle-ring-o (fa-circle-dot-o) #8121

Similar to the circle-o-notch, this variation has a small, open/closed circle on the outer ring, instead of a cut-out notch. Open, could be "ring", closed could be "dot".

Include a few use cases for your requested icon. How do you plan on using it?

Can be used as an icon to show part of a whole; I need it to show a "360°" view and where the user is
Can also be a variant on a spinning icon
Perhaps can represent a circling planet, or relation of two objects

I have created a CSS extension for stacks. I added this case on my jsfiddle sample to showcase an alternative.

However do not use the notch icon because the gap is not enough. I opened a new case #8403 to request the proper notch that will perfect this stack.

This is a quick update to let folks know that we’re refining our icon request workflow behind the scenes, and as part of that we’re going through all open requests and filing them into several new buckets to be addressed.

In this case we’ve added this issue to our new list to be created! We can’t promise any firm timelines right now, but this will help us keep track of it.

We’ll update this issue when the icon is released into the wild 🙂
