Whose idea and project is ForthHub?

Someone wrote to me and seemed to think my jx4 repo was poorly placed here. Should I remove it?

quozl commented 6 years ago

G'day Jack! Not sure whose idea, but many of us here are interested in Forth and jx4 looks like a Forth. So in my opinion, you're welcome.

The individual did suggest that the material might be better placed in my own repos on GitHub ... I'm not sure if he thought it was inappropriate, or if he just felt that as a Forther I should manage my own work?

Best to ask them. Forks are cheap. License is clear. Code is not maintained. ForthHub may outlive me and you. Pull requests seem unlikely, but if they are too noisy hiding the work in a personal fork is obvious solution.

https://github.com/ForthHub/jx4

Other repositories are also here, but mine are not, so I'm not really sure what the consensus is.

Thanks, James. I just put it up there out of nostalgia. Them was the days ... :)

Hello,

I set up ForthHub. I intended it as a place on GitHub where Forth enthusiast can gather and discuss.

I have tried to avoid collecting Forth repositories in this organization. My feeling has been that it's better that people keep their own repositories.

jwoehr commented 6 years ago

Ok, Lars ... thank you for setting up the discussion. I will delete my repo

@larsbrinkhoff how about just creating a meta repo and adding those repos as submodules?

larsbrinkhoff commented 6 years ago

Sounds good, do it!
