Design homepage #3

Hi all,

after some research on GitHub, I have not found a cool group's homepage from we can take inspiration. At this point; I think we can start to collect our ideas for start building our own homepage and then improve it as we found other sources of inspiration.

As @Tobychev pointed out into issue#1 we can start defining the group's purpose(s). In the following I would like to collect the main topic the group's homepage should contain.

  1. a synthetic yet clear mission statement, maybe remanding to a more analytic page with list of purposes; indeed, Zaak have already summarized all into the name...
  2. define the group's ethics/conduct, like open code conduct;
    • in this framework, it could be nice to add also an how to contributing/join our group (maybe adding a join button on the homepage);
  3. list the group's members:
    • if we like the idea, I vote for a page where we can add a very short bio/introduction of our self maybe linking our external blogs or homepages;
    • it could be nice to have a page listing also other GitHub projects of each group's member that are developed by single member alone, outside the group (FORD, json-fortran, etc...); we found us mainly by means of our previous projects that are all interesting...
  4. list of group's projects;

What you think about this?

@szaghi I like all of your ideas, and apologize for the lack-luster start... I just have not had any time outside of my other responsibilities to actually attend to this. You, and everyone else are welcome to start hacking away at implementing this.

@zbeekman do not worry! I think the starting is very good. I am out of office, thus I cannot do much more than think... I will search an android tool for haking the jekyll page :-)
