@JustinCoppini when do you think you will manage to wrap this up please?

Thanks B

I've realised that people try to enter from this side (left) because there is no doorbell on the other side so they don't know how to let people know they're here. Maybe adding a door bell on the other side could help avoid people trying to come in from this side. Just a thought.

Hi all , it seems i was on another user, I was having a chat with myself somewhere on the interwebs;

Glass entrance doors: Each Glass Door Price including Delivery & Installation is €1065 excluding VAT including discount. These doors are to be ordered clear and we'll design some cool sticker to go on top of them later. The doors include magnetic strikers that will have to be connected to the keypad entry pad.

Lighting:

I propose the following lights to light up the wall, we can get two larger ones and one small one to discretely light up a small forward logo next to the actual entrance door. A cost effective solution for the gypsum wall could be a light micro cement since Adrian stocks his own material and will do it for really cheap.

Sliding door : Need to follow this up

Doors upstairs : Need to tell adrian to get two aluminium doors to properly seal the doors upstairs.

Sliding door : Will coordinate with Greco.

@JustinCoppini suggest you prepare a budget on excel sheet to include lights, doors, painting, signage etc. Re lights - Speak to Glo and see if there are any lights which we can get a reduced price. We need to keep costs down. Most of the budget will be taken by the glass doors. The rest should be considered negligible or optional.

Can I make a suggestion that we have a meeting to discuss this idea in general? We were talking over lunch that there may be a solution to this issue of circulation that involves moving Karl and the structures team into what is currently the library/lounge, and then making the two back rooms the lounge and library. People can walk through the new lounge and library freely, and we could make sure there was space in each for students. That way we can keep the outside doors closed. Then maybe we put a doorbell on the other side like @katrinagauci was suggesting and some new signage.

Thoughts?

@JustinCoppini I really like the lighting plan and the micro cement. I think we should do this even if we don't implement the glass screen. It would make for a great entrance to our level.

JustinCoppini commented 7 years ago

I suggest we implement the soffit, microcement and glass doors + make necessary alterations (like an intercom outside the actual entrance and lighting. In the mean time we can investigate the alternative options. the cost of the glass screen could go to other things. How do we advance this issue, do we need to meet ? who is scheduling the meeting ?

ChristopherMicallef commented 7 years ago

@JustinCoppini Doors and glass for the lower areas are ordered and should be installed in June. I'll give Greco a chaser. re lights/entrance finishes, @ericforward @JustinCoppini I am not sure of the micro cement - its a very messy application and will prove to be a costly one too. Perhaps the three of us can find a minute to finalise on the way forward. Betta is pushing to have this done by mid July latest!

JustinCoppini commented 7 years ago

Micro cement is a good option since Adrian stocks the product (therefore quite sure he'll do it on the cheap), which is why I proposed it. We cut place a FORWARD logo as a cut out on top and it would be pretty neat.

I think the most important thing is to evaluate what the identity of the office is , or what we strive to be.

Xuereb installations supply wood wool which we can do something cool with.

Can someone set up a meeting ?
