Calendar widget not updating

Steps to reproduce the bug

Add appointments widget, add appointments/tasks, wait till the time has passed

Expected behavior

Tasks should grey out, current day should show on top

Actual behavior

It‘s stuck on the day you added the widget

Had the same issue in the Simple Calendar app for about a week now

In my case, this issue occurs after Android or app update. The workaround is to restart the phone.

In my case it randomly refuses to update tasks. Sometimes it updates right away, sometimes it doesn't update for hours. Update: seems like the issue has been resolved after I manually gave the app the calendar permission.
