Contacts from DAVx5 not showing up unless Google Services Framework is installed

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Install GrapheneOS
2. Make sure the Google Services Framework is not installed
3. Install Contacts
4. Install DAVx5
5. Setup DAVx5
6. No contact shows up in Contacts

Expected behavior

I would like the contacts imported from my carddav server to show up in the application.

Actual behavior

I do not see the contacts from my carddav server in the application.

Additional information

I know for a fact that my DAVx5 setup works since I can see my contacts with every other contact application I tried. I tried a few times to repeat the process and I always get the same result.
