Feature description

First, absolutely phenomenal app. I am very happy to have discovered this. Used to use quickpic and the open source fork of it but I got a new phone that no longer supports quickpic and honestly this is better. Happy to pitch in with a monthly donation to support further development of this fantastic app.

I would just like to request an option to set the homepage of the app to specific folders when using the direct folder subgrouping view option. Currently, the first screen shows the [Internal] folder which must be entered to view any subfolders that are included. I think most if not all users are only storing images on their internal SD cards, so this step may be redundant. It may be easy to allow the user with no external SD card to just set the internal folder as the homepage instead of root to skip this step.

However, additional functionality may be to show a path bar on the top of the screen when using this view method for easy back navigation, and allowing to set a new homepage to a specific folder.

Why do you want this feature?

Since I have a device with only an internal SD card and no option for an external card, having the home page when using direct subfolder grouping be the root folder just adds an additional redundant step to get to all of my included folders.

Also, while I do have some folders in multiple spots around my SD card, most of my galleries are in one specific subfolder so an additional quality of life improvement would be to be able to set this folder as the home page.

I love the organization provided by using the direct folder subgrouping option, and I also agree with the other open features request to allow to enable this option on a per-folder basis for even more control over our image galleries.

Could you create a separate feature request for that? It would be useful for navigation even without setting a default folder.

well... i store all my data on the external sd card, but i support this feature request because it is more or less the same but with the external sd card!

additionally i wanted to mention that there is a possibility to include/exclude specific folders... maybe using this feature and expanding it may be interesting to be able to set more than one home folder. the use case would be similar to mine:

• adding the external sd card as there are all data stored...
• but if you use a camera app which can only write to the internal storage, it may be possible to additionally select this one folder from the internal storage to also have it shown in the gallery.

...one thing i'm not 100% sure about is, whether it may require an app-wide or per folder setting so show the given folder itself or just its containing folders.
