Go to settings. Set contact storage to internal (not shared with other apps).
There's no such thing in settings. Do you mean setting contact storage while editing a contact?
Also, in Fossify Phone, can you check if in the filter options you have enabled Phone storage (not visible by other apps)
?
Thank you, sorry for creating a whole topic about it. It just works now. I didn't even have to change that setting. :')
Checklist
Affected Android/Custom ROM version
Android 13
Affected device model
Moto 5g 2023 Stylus
How did you install the apps?
F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid
Which apps are affected?
Contacts, Phone
Steps to reproduce the bug
Go to Fossiffy Contacts. Go to settings. Set contact storage to internal (not shared with other apps). Exit Fossify Contacts. Open Fossify Phone. No Contacts available. (This is not the case for Messenger or any other Fossify application I tried, the rest work great.)
Expected behavior
Setting Contacts to internal storage should allow the Fossify Phone application to read the Fossify Contacts storage.
Actual behavior
Setting contact storage location to internal memory (not shared with other apps) in "Contacts" makes it so that the "Phone" application cannot read contacts. So if I am not logged into Google on my phone, I cannot use the phone application to call anyone from my contacts. This kind of defeats the point of having internal storage, or even making a FOSS replacement for the Google Contacts application altogether. (Yes I know how dumb this might sound if you didn't use SimpleMobileTools internal contact storage, please read the next field.)
Screenshots/Screen recordings
No screenies necessary. Problem clearly described.
Additional information
The SimpleMobileTools version was in fact able to communicate internally stored contacts with their "Dialer" application, which is what your "Phone" application is based upon. SimpleMobileTools applications had the full ability to communicate with one-another even when set to internal storage. It is my strong hope that this issue be fixed soon. I am excited to jump ship to Fossify that I may see new updates to the security and practicality of my device. Thank you very much for all your hard work.
