Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Exporting messages manually is a bit tiring.

Describe the solution you'd like Automatic backup as in Simple Calendar, with a selectable location, e.g. on an SD card.

Describe alternatives you've considered None.

Additional context Scheduling a backup would be great, e.g. at a specific time or while the phone is charging.

Indeed could be interessting. Actually I use this app to do it : https://f-droid.org/fr/packages/com.github.tmo1.sms_ie/ It's more complete as managed some other backups.

I don't know if it possible to isolate this feature and communicate/configure/delegate it to an another app.

Maybe it should be on org level as calls, settings could be saved same way and add it to commons library?
