This may be a silly idea depending on the available terminators and how annoying they are, but it might be cheaper / easier in some ways to use Cat 6 cable to connect the Pumps Unit to the Control Unit.
Questions to answer:
Would this work and would it be at least as easy as the phoenix connectors?
What sockets would be used on the Control Unit and Pumps Unit? Are they easy for a novice with no specialized tools to work with?
What are the cost savings? Are the appropriate connectors more available and easy to find?
This has proven to be effective for both the cables between units and wiring within units. The solid core wires in CAT5/6 are more resilient in many of the solderless connectors we use.
