Nagios Checker in full browser window #146

Send by email from konrad rzentarzewski:

my collegue has found NC plugin and i have to say i'm impressed. we'd
like to use it in our NOC room to feed one of our HUD displays...

however, i've tried to open
chrome://nagioschecker/content/nagioschecker-overlay.xul on fullscreen
and it doesn't seem to work (it only displays big red X and refreshes).

am i doing it wrong?
is it possible?
any hints?

we'd also like to change a font to bigger one (but i guess that
shouldn't be a problem while open in regular browser window) and attach
some JS to scroll screen vertically if there are plenty of problems and
possibly to scroll each items description horizontally if it's too long
to fit. i have no expertise in XUL/HTML but do you think that if i give
it to some of our company html-guys it would be possible?

Send by email from Marcin Kula:

I have just discovered your Nagios checker plugin :)
It is great addon to Firefox, but I would like to open
NagiosChecke popup in firefox's tab.

Is it possible to start it using url like that chrome://nagioschecker/... ?

Thank you both for suggestions. I have to investigate possibility for using own
xul
template this way.
Definitely you cannot use nagioschecker-overlay.xul. It is specific xul
template,
something like enhancement to FF xul template extending FF statusbar.
I will be able to do it, I have to do the special XUL template that suits your
needs.

Hi petr,
I would like to know if the nagioschecker monitoring in a a full window
is in project for a soon release ?
If it is not the case, I will try to create this functionality.
Thanks for your answer.

I was wondering if there is a way to get firefox to display just the
popup (mouseover) information, in a tab, all the time. I don't know
too much about extension hacking but I took a look at the chrome files
and the xul templates and I couldn't get anywhere.

Thanks, and Very good job on a great extension,
Matt

how is this feature going? maybe small donation for Petr or Gilles would help?

I am working on it. This feature is my priority for 0.16 release.
At this time I am playing with output to another XUL window but nothing usable
yet.
Please be patient, I am not master of my free time and any donation cannot
change it at
this time. :-) Wait for the release of this feature and then consider whether
it met
your expectations.

Did this feature ever get added? I am just now upgrading to FF6 which broke
the version of Nagios Checker I had. So in upgrading I ran across this thread
and thought this might be really cool to have running in a separate window, but
I didnt see anything on how to move it there. Since this was an old thread I
thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Aaron

we gave up waiting and installed naglite3
[https://saz.sh/2011/01/22/naglite3-nagios-status-monitor-for-a-noc-or-operation
s-room/] - after some tweaking (easy, it's php) it's very nice and good looking
dash.
