When using a FIR filter and no PEQ settings, it seems that there is an error with the convolver that means tracks skip. Users have identified that if a dummy PEQ is set (e.g. Peak flter with 0 gain) then the DSP works as expected.
I suspect that either there are some leftover entries in the config file which are confusing the decision tree about whether a EQ Impulse exists and this mucks up the pre-process that merges the EQ Impulse and FIR Impulse.
