Citation count is retrieved when an annotation is created #2

Citation count should only be retrieved if a new reference item is created, not when a different item type like an annotation inside a PDF is created.

I am seeing popups every time I make a highlight in a PDF. This behavior seems to be a bug (e.g. the retrieval attempt doesn't seem to have access to the DOI).

Any chance of this being addressed? I'd been keen to use this extension but I don't think I can handle the popups with every annotation.

I have the same problem. Besides, popups occur every time I create a new note. Thanks for your great work.

Using Zotero 7.0.9 on windows 11, still seeing issue
