Some versions of LoseThos aren't listed. Not sure if it's because they are duplicates, incomplete, or if you just missed them.

There's also some of the source on these pages but it'd be hard to gather which files are for which period of time. There might even be multiple revisions of these pages. https://web.archive.org/web/20100129154336/http://losethos.com:80/code.html https://web.archive.org/web/20100212210637/http://www.losethos.com:80/linecnt.html

Also, here's some random archive.org info that I had laying on my drive, might not be useful but I figured that I'd post it.

hm yeah, there's a few that I missed. I mainly went through the ISO's from the terry davis archive on archive.org, and didn't look into the sites much besides for HOPPY

some of the ISO's were corrupt (did not boot and couldn't be accessed from a working install either) so any iso that's missing that is on the archive.org torrent is corrupt or I haven't gotten to it yet

about the LT.EXE files, looks like they're zip's which probably contain the floppy image files, these are dated very close to the ISO's though so I don't think it's worth rewriting the git history as they'll probably be very similar if not the same

the LTFLOPPY.IMG might be worth adding since it's 3 months earlier than the first LoseThos iso, if i manage to boot or mount it

well, once I finish with the current branch ill think about redoing another branch with a more polished exporter and the future knowledge that i will have about quirks in each version and in the doc api and any images that I missed

@Francesco149 and @slx7R4GDZM Good day Friends! Do you know if there is any more modern LoseThos/TempleOS floppy available, or is it possible to somehow upgrade this LoseThos old floppy with TempleOS contains? (maybe replacing the whole contents except the floppy bootloader part)

Even today the floppies are still being used, for example - as virtual floppies inside the coreboot open source BIOS. Just imagine: TempleOS could be a part of someone's BIOS build! _(for coreboot supported motherboard, maybe you have or could get one - see https://www.coreboot.org/Supported_Motherboards )_

slx7R4GDZM commented 5 years ago

@informer2016 I'm pretty sure that's the only floppy version of LoseThos that was ever archived. I can't even get the floppy version of LT to boot on VirtualBox. It looks like it hangs after printing out InitAllBlkDevs.

informer2016 commented 5 years ago

@slx7R4GDZM Yes, I have the same problem. And what about its' successor TempleOS - do you know if there ever was a floppy version of it?

Francesco149 commented 5 years ago

TempleOS never had floppy support as far as I know. in his rant txt's, terry says he "removed floppy support", probably back in the LoseThos days

slx7R4GDZM commented 5 years ago

@informer2016 I doubt it. It looks like all references to booting from a floppy drive were removed sometime between the large range of 2007-08-16 and 2011-09-24. Also, 2006-07-20 is the last version with a distribution file that still has the DistributeDToFloppy function.

informer2016 commented 5 years ago

@Francesco149 and @slx7R4GDZM , thank you very much for your replies. Sad he has removed a floppy support, but maybe when I'll have more time I could try to package it as a floppy again - just for being able to use TempleOS as a part of my coreboot BIOS. Meanwhile will be using the other useful floppy-based OS mentioned at this page - http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Lenovo_G505S_hacking#Useful_floppies

update on this issue:

I've also cleaned up the repo and archived all the ISOs that are dated and that I could get working
